Mentorship at Godoma

As Kenya turns fifty five, Kickstart Kilifi celebrated Kenya’s birthday with form four (grade 12) students at Godoma Secondary School (Bamba, Kilifi County). It was a day full of interactive activities with our mentor-ship team of volunteers covering the following areas: Learning styles, Career guidance, Goal setting, Motivation and Time management.

It was a day to remember especially for the young girls who were challenged and inspired by one of the speaker. Hon Saumu Sidi, who happens to be Member of the County Assembly of Kilifi, a Certified Public Accountant and when she said she is in her final year of her MBA. One of the girls, Khadija the school head girl, in her vote of thanks said, “I’m challenged by Saumu, and I want to be a politician too.” After the session she requested if she could take a photo with her newly found role model, and in one of the group photos Khadija (In a white Hijab) can be seen standing close to Hon. Saumu Sidi (In a red Hijab).
