Stress and Stress Management

Stress is inevitable. However it is important to recognize when one is stressed and what triggers it so that we can take necessary action to deal with the stressors. Else one might “burst” akin the balloon when it could no longer take in more air. The Balloon blowing game was used to give our participants firsthand experience of how detrimental the inability to positively cope up with stress can be to an individual. Mental illness is one of the chief cause of suicides today, and the youths are not immune either. Continued strain of ones’ body from routine stress can lead to depression which lead to one developing mental health issues alongside other factors. Therefore it is important for us to take our participants through this less talked about topic. Effective stress mismanagement is important since stress can affect our productivity at work not forgetting it is a buildup on the previous topic on “Managing your emotions.”
